We had a chance to bring the University of Massachusetts Dynamics into the mobile studio to talk about their upcoming recording release, how they determine when it’s time to record and what goes on an album, and what kind of music they’re singing these days. They also sang some of that music for us! Recorded in 2016.

The members of The A cappella Group (TAG) from Cypress Lake High School Center for the Arts in Fort Myers, Florida, are talented and thoughtful musicians. We talk about their work on original music, on the value of recording, and more – and they sing us some tunes! Recorded in 2016.

While in New York, we were happy to welcome Empire, a post-collegiate group based in the city, into the mobile studio. We talked with them about how the group got started, recruiting new members, and balancing the group with other life demands. We also recorded them singing us some tunes! Recorded in 2016.

We talked with the Boston University BosTones about how the group got started, then moved to what they’re working on now, from preparing for competition to performances to touring. We discuss their sound and vibe as a group these days, and hear them share some of it as they sing for us. Recorded in 2016.

The demands of a semi-pro post-collegiate group can be great, and the closer you get to being a pro group, the greater they can be. We talk with Ball In The House about those trade-offs, and how they manage them. We also talk about performances vs. competition, and about how they keep things fresh with so many performance dates a year. They sound great singing some songs for us, too! Recorded in 2016.

We really enjoyed talking with Concrete in our mobile studio in New York, as we welcomed them in to talk about their experiences forming and growing a post-collegiate group. While in the Boston area, we were able to invite post-collegiate group Collective Measures into the mobile studio to talk about their unusual formation, their evolution during the group’s early period, and where they are now. They also sang some of their current repertoire for us! Recorded in 2016.

Bay Area post-collegiate group Halfway to Midnight joined us in the mobile studio to talk about their experiences forming the group, competing together in the Harmony Sweepstakes (at the National Finals!), and all the other things they’re working on right now. They also sang us some of their current music as well! Recorded in 2016.

While in New York, we invited the NYU Mixtapes into the mobile studio to talk about what kinds of music they’re gravitating toward these days, their ICCA experiences, what is in their future plans as a group, and more. They also sang us some songs from their current repertoire. Recorded in 2016.

We have a soft spot in our hearts for Restless Vocal Band – they’re such fun, warm, wonderful people, and we had a great time talking with them in the mobile studio. We talked about where they’ve been, where they’re going, and how they’re spending their time these days. They also sang us some of their current music!
