We invited Legacy into our mobile studio in New York, where they were competing in (and winning) the ICHSA national finals. We talked about how they came together to form a new group, managing rehearsals when they all live far apart, and more. Plus, they sang some tunes for us live!

While in New York for the ICCA finals (where they again ranked as one of the top three collegiate groups in the world), the University of Chicago Voices In Your Head joined us in the mobile studio to talk about their evolution as a group, finding a new group culture, and the ICCA. Plus, they sang some of their current rep for us live!

The Stanford Raagapella were the first group we ever recorded on #TheSpotlight. In 2018, we invited them back into the mobile studio, and talked about their evolution from an all-male to an all-gender group, their growth as a group, and more. Plus, they sing some tunes for us!

The University of Utah’s Infrared joins us in #TheSpotlight mobile studio to talk about being one of very few a cappella groups on campus and building an a cappella culture, along with building momentum for the group. They also sing some tunes for us live!

Just as they were about to be crowned one of the top-3 high school groups in the country, Marcus HS Fusion dropped into our mobile studio for a chat and to sing some songs!

It had been nearly 15 years since the Davis Spokes were founded as an all-female group at UC Davis when they joined us on #TheSpotlight. We talked about the scene at Davis, about their experiences in the group, and more – and they sang for us live!

The Green Note is an all-gender group from Portland State University that is trying to grow its reputation in the local and regional community. We talked with them about that process, and about the group’s evolution. They also sang a few songs for us in our mobile studio.

Temple’s OwlCappella hasn’t been around ALL that long – less than a decade – but have been paying attention to all the right things, from musicality to defining their culture to administrivia that keeps things moving. As the Beartones were on their run to the ICCA Finals – one of the best collegiate groups in the country – we had a chance to invite them in to talk with us about their journey and sing some of their award-winning music!

The main campus of BYU gets a lot of a cappella attention, with something like two dozen groups – but BYU’s Idaho campus has singers, too. In this episode, we talk with Apollo, an all-male group on campus there that’s helping grow the traditions and culture. We discuss their evolution and have them sing us some songs!
